Ok so if you are a beauty fan and a make-up addict to boot, then it can be ridiculously easy to end up spending half of your pay-check on new beauty products that you really don’t need but that you seriously want. One thing that we don’t tend to think so much about is our make-up bags which can actually be harbouring all kinds of germs! You should really be washing your make-up bag regularly, at least once a month, or wiping it down with a clean cloth. Phew, now that make-up bag hygiene practices are out of the way, it is time to talk about some of the most gorgeous make-up bags that are available to buy right now. A freebie zip case that you got with a magazine simply doesn’t cut it anymore, not when you consider how many affordable and lovely make-up bag designs there are. Here are just a few of our favourites.
For a bit of retro kitsch that is just ever so slightly twee, then you can’t beat something from Cath Kidson, where you can find some of the most beautiful and eye-catching motifs that are anywhere on the high street. This absolutely beautiful make-up bag from the brand showcases their style to perfection, and is a dainty and fun way in which to store your make-up. The charming duck motif with the blue and white stripes are somehow quintessentially British and make us think of boating, picnics and the British summer. For a make-up bag that’s not too girly and that is wipe-clean, this Ducks in a Row make-up bag is perfect. It only costs £14, and if you really want to splash (!) out, then you can always get the larger matching wash-bag for £20 too.
For a square-shaped make-up bag that will hold a lot more than you think it will, this powder pink number with pastel stripes is great. It looks really expensive as it almost came from a designer store with its understated chic, however incredibly this classy little make-up bag actually comes from bargain American fashion store Forever 21 and it only costs £6! With the added detail of a visible metal zip and a handy little carry handle, this make-up bag is pretty timeless, and will actually be pretty easy to keep clean. Gently hand-wash it every now and then to keep it looking like new, and if the price-tag is still not bargainous for you, Poundland have a similar powder pink wash bag for only a £1!
If you prefer your things to be chic and elegant, then this faux patent leather make-up bag is the one for you. Costing £9.99 from H&M, this waterproof zip-up bag is ideal if you like to keep things to the minimal. Thanks to the black colour it will also conceal any marks that should happen as a result of your make-up, and of course you can simply wipe and rinse it to keep it squeaky clean! It is also available in a stunning hot pink that is a little bit more girly.
